Hi again.

Trying to play with Custom backgrounds and sorted the desktop out and now i would like to change both Lock screen and Ctrl+Lock+Del to a custom image.

I've put the backgrounddfault.jpg in the OOBE\info\Backgrounds

and it hasn't appeared. Have i missed something?

Yeah there is. HKLM - Software - Microsoft - Windows - Current Version - Authentication - LogonUI - Background

The OEMBackground key needs to be set to 1.

HOWEVER - this still doesn't work for me. It likes changing itself back to 0. I think you have to use GPO to set backgrounds too... I do that for pupils but not staff. Might be an issue.

ALSO - the image needs to be less than 256kb I think.

I'm pretty sure this method doesn't work on windows 10. I had to use a third party program to change it.

Sharing is caring... ;) what was the program?

The Windows 8.1 lock screen customisation setting works in Windows 10 - Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Control Panel/Personalisation/Force a specific default lock screen image/Path to lock screen image: (you can use a UNC share here or a local folder). I was struggling to get this to work initially, but that was actually because I was testing on a Surface 3 which seems to have appalling wifi connectivity, and kept losing connection to the DCs so wouldn't process GP. Worked fine on other machines.

Done that now. I know i can change it in Windows it self. But i want it locked down. Ive done Windows background when users login. Just want to change the lock screen..

32-gtech's method does work, disregard what I suggested that only changes the login screen background and not the lock screen. The only thing is I suspect that many schools ours included may have the lock screen disabled to remove the extra click before you can enter your login credentials in which case you wouldn't be able to change the image on the ctrl+alt+delete screen. Depends which is most important to you, for us it was to get rid of the lock screen altogether because many of our users would panic and think the credentials boxes had dissapeared.
