Laptop cached profile and offline files

Hi all,

 

what is the best way to do the above for staff laptops so that they can use them at home and at school?

 

Also so that their work will auto sync when it reconnects to the network?

 

I am initially setting this up for the BM, as she wants to be able to work from home. We can't afford any remote access.

I spent quite some time looking in to this at the last school I worked in, the Head wanted it for all teacher laptops so I started a thread on here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/learning-network-manager/138682-configuring-offline-files.html

 

The advice was great and got it working to a certain extent although not perfectly but I put that down to my own understanding.

 

If I had my chance again I would investigate setting up a VPN and remote desktop connection.
