Been tasked to find out the following - can you help?

Good morning all,

 

We get our 3rd line server support, SIMS and Connectivity through what was our LEA support. Apparently it seems that they have increased their costs by 20% since last year, which has triggered our SLT into asking me to look at alternatives.

 

We are a RM CC4.5 school with CC4 Anywhere, SIMS/SIMS Learning Gateway with 100 Mbps connection.

 

My first question is do other large companies who have LEA contracts for support, support schools outside their LEA boundaries? if not - are there any recommendations as to which companies preferably around the London/Home Counties would be able to provide support and connectivity all in one?

 

Need to get about 3/4 quotes, plus RM and Capita to support their own systems.

Unless you have a fully managed network i'd say let rm and sims support their own systems. It would be very intrusive and difficult to have an outsider provide 3rd line support unless they manage all your ICT

There are an assortment of companies who support SIMS, typically small-ish local ones rather than nationals. RM are probably best placed to support an RM network.
