Never the less, I was mostly refering to people running standard desktop Linux OSes. Can you save an extra £25(?) per device by not paying Google for management?

Further to this, and in reply to @mavhc , the device settings do things like: setup wireless, add certificates etc things that are 'per device' rather than 'per user'.

If you can use [insert your favourite linux management tool] to setup these things onto a non-chromeOS desktop and ensure users sign into the browser you get to use the management tool for free.

(it works on Windows too and is a fine way of deploying apps to staff at home, but I think google are getting rid of that feature)
