Just went to edit some GPO Settings (haven't touched them in a while...), and All the Administrative Template Folders Seem to have disappeared from all of the policies. All i Have is Google Chrome ADMX Settings and One Windows Component Folder containing Windows Update, as shown in the picture below. Thinking about it when i've glanced at GPOs in the past few months I have known that this is how it shows, but it hadn't clicked in my head that there used to be ~100 other settings within the admin templates folder, until I went to edit it. I have tried installing the ADMX MSI from the Windows Site onto the server but this doesn't seem to have changed anything.... (I may be missing something very simple......) Any help appreciated.

linkazoid Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 On a DC, check the SYSVOL folder possibly (C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies) and find PolicyDefinitions. If this is empty, then there is your issue. You can possibly copy them from C:\PolicyDefinitions\

That Policy Definitions bit at the bottom only contains 1 Folder (en-US) Which contains chrome.adml and one loose file (chrome.admx) There are lots more in the PolicyDefinitions folder you mentioned, do I just copy and paste them all straight into that other folder? Tesla Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 The one i was specifically looking for was related to offline files, so the network folder, but it's all of the folders that are missing except the google chrome policy files. Screenie from my PC's GP settings, show them as I remember them being before.
linkazoid Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Make a backup copy of the central store PolicyDefinitions and copy them from C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions\ The timestamps show 2009 so haven't been changed for a while. If you installed the ADMX msi today then timestamps in C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions should be much newer.
