dezt Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 I need some help finding training for my ICT Technician, she requires knowledge of Windows XP and Windows server 2003. Ideally I could do with her gaining some experience on Exchange 2003 but it is not as important as XP and Server 2003. Does anyone know of any suitable training that she could do? Thanks Dezt.
PEO Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 A+ for hardware and software MS 70-270 for windows xp 70-290 and 70-291 for server 2003 should give her a good start. not sure about exchange sorry
GrumbleDook Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 A Technet subscription gives you access to a variety of training videos, Technet also have on-line labs. I would also recommend the Mark Minasi series of books for a hands-on guide, and would suggest copious use of VMWare to build a test domain to learn on. HTH

StewartKnight Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Try Lancs uni, they have some great courses and are good value.
PEO Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 also install emule and type the magic word 'testout' and see what happens from there

cookie_monster Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 I'd be tempted to take a look at the MCDST course for Windows XP. http://www.amazon.co.uk/MCDST-Microsoft-Certified-Desktop-Technician/dp/0782143520/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=gateway&qid=1201696552&sr=8-3
Kitkatninja Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 If the need is only for Windows XP, Server 2k3 and Exchange. You could just take a look at the MCSA (70-270 - Client XP, 70-290 - Server 2k3, 70-291 - Networking and 70-284 - Exchange). However like it's already been mentioned here, I would also recommend the A+/Network+ combination and the MCDST, before starting the MCSA. -ken
