Do you consider "WWW" and "The internet" two separate things?

The internet is the web and Word is Windows! Everything is done via Google and Word, the monitor is the PC, and the router is the "wireless".

I don't get asked about the WWW really at all, its as if the word Internet has taken over the terminology of anything that is online (and some stuff that isn't but they just say internet anyway). If anybody does ask I just refer to it as a protocol and they tend to just go quiet with a blank expression. I could go into more detail but I already know they aren't interested so just chuck a technical term out there to throw them off.

I know the difference and will use the correct one where it matters, but generally use "web" and "internet" interchangeably. I won't correct non-technical people who get it wrong (with the possible exception of a GCSE Computing student)

 

The one which bugs me (and I admit irrationally so) is "black and white printers". Grrr!! Rage!!!!
