GeneralWinter Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Hi all, Lately one of my users has been having a problem. Basically they want to pin the outlook 2010 shortcut to their taskbar, so they pin outlook to their taskbar however when they log off for the day and log back on the pinned item is gone. So the other day I reset the account and tested pinning the same object to the taskbar on a networked computer in the IT Suite and it worked fine, but it seems the problem persists on her PC where as it doesn't on other computers. I'm also finding that none of her user settings stick on her computer, with Office giving the first use screen at every log on. I've moved the computer to the same group the Suite pc's are in and others on active directory and its made no change. What could it be?
Sagima Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I was going to say delete her local profile and let it recreate but it's Friday afternoon just reimage the whole thing Re-reading it sounds like computer group policy - if you move the OU her PC is in to the ICT suite one do her problems go away?
GeneralWinter Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Yeah I was thinking of trying a re image for the sake of it. Nope I've moved the PC to the ICT suite OU and the office one and no change when moved to either. That was my best guess as to what was causing the issue so it was the first thing I tried.
aleach2 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 The following group policy could be set for the user which will remove pinned items from the taskbar How to manage Windows Taskbar Items pinning using Group Policy - TechNet Articles - United States (English) - TechNet Wiki
