nathan Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 I'm looking into making use of Office 365 more heavily and wondered if there are any primaries using it and OneDrive to store documents for both staff and students. Do you map My Documents to it? Does it allow you to have a global share for say SLT members etc? Sorry for the questions, i've only ever used it in a personally.
hallb15 Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 This has come up many times before. There are ways to script it, but the general consensus is that Onedrive for business isn't designed to replace your homedrive and so shouldn't be used that way. You can setup groups, e.g. an SLT group, and share documents that way but again that shouldn't be a substitute for a locally stored (and properly backed up) shared drive.
DalekSec Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 OneDrive is more like a homedrive, SharePoint is meant to replace shares such as subject drives etc.
