SIMS Options 5 Error

Hi all

 

Going a bit old school here. I have a school that is using Options 5. 2 Machines are perfectly fine and can get in to Options no trouble at all. However 1 other machine cannot. As soon as you run options you get the following:

 

Following problem arose when attempting to open teh table G:\SIMS\options\IMP0001Control.dbf - Corrupt table / Index Header

 

I have found lots of KB's on Capita's site but so far I have tried everything I can think of to fix this but still it keeps coming up. I've checked permissions - all ok, Checked the SIMS.ini file - Looks fine and even copied in a copy of it from a working machine, Re-installed SIMS and Infrastructure, even installed FMS so that it put SQL native client on it, restarted the machine numerous times. None of this has worked.. What I have noticed is that in the error message IMP0001 is actually a folder so the back slash after it is missing. I believe that is the problem but I have no idea as to how to correct it! Does anyone have any ideas on this as it's starting to drive me to distraction!

I have a machine that doesn't seem to pointing to the right place to look for the options data, I think you might have the same issue but i can't find where to alter the patch it points to. You might be mimssing a \ off yours.

The issue was it didn't have the sims infrastructure installed which contain some borland libraries etc. Once i did that it was all fine.

I had a similar problem today at work. However when we reinstalled Options this did not fix the issue. On the machine where options was working we had a look at each implementation and found that the .dbf file it was looking at was an inactive implementation and therefore it generated the error message. We decided to rename the IMPxxxx folder and this solved the issue. Also we had a look at the SIMS share and the permissions were not correct. However be careful when renaming folders and always take a back up just incase. I am new to options so proceed with caution.
