[ms office - 2013] Word Hanging (2013 / 2016)

Hi All,

 

We've had an issue with Word recently, it keeps freezing or hanging completely...

 

I created a new image from scratch and put Office 2016 on instead of 2013, and that seemed to be okay, but has started happening again.

 

It seems to be okay if documents are saved in the old Word 97-2003 format, but that's obviously not ideal...

 

Has anyone had this before, or can anyone suggest anything to try? I've Googled a bit but not found anything yet...

I've got it too on Office 2013 but only on a couple of computers. Could do with an answer as well!!

Which OS have you installed Office 2013/2016 on?

Windows 7 Enterprise in my case

There are known issues (search on this forum) relating to Windows 7 + Office 2013, but not aware of issues with Windows 7 + Office 2016.

Just back in the office... on Windows 7 too... I didn't bother looking into the 2013 issue, as I was using it as an excuse to upgrade to 2016, but it's still an issue so having to investigate...

 

Had a quick look for related issues here, not seen anything yet...

I still have some users on Windows 7 and Office 2016 and haven't had any issues reported.

Does anyone have any updated information on this issue? I am also experiencing the same thing in a roaming profile environment, Windows 7 enterprise, Office 2013. Affecting many users.
