adamholt1 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Really wanting to get certified to bulk up the technical qualifications as don't have much other than my degree. Looking at CBT Nuggets however it is fairly pricey but does look very good. In a nutshell - is it worth purchasing? Or is there a better alternative?
Steve21 Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Is it good? Yes. Would I pay for them? No. End of day all they're doing is reading and demo'ing what you can find in any book/online etc. But it's nicely wrapped up. One thing to bear in mind is a lot of them are out of date for some of the revisions that come out and the videos aren't always updated. Steve
rich_tech Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Their videos are better than the alternatives such as udemy I think having watched both, expensive for access though and I wouldn't pay for it either
sted Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Their videos are better than the alternatives such as udemy I think having watched both, expensive for access though and I wouldn't pay for it either if that one bloke who did the win7 ones iirc would stop saying dollars to doughnuts
Arreks Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Is it good? Yes. Would I pay for them? No. Quote for truth.
adamholt1 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Is it worth factoring into CPD budget though? School account rather than personal as like you say it is expensive.
rich_tech Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 if that one bloke who did the win7 ones iirc would stop saying dollars to doughnuts I have only looked at the CBT nuggets for CCNA and Jeremy Choara is quite excellent, hes enthusiastic and passionate, whereas the Udemy course narrator seems to speak in a monotone.
Tallwood_6 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I've used both plurasight and cbtnuggets, probably has the better instructors but the issue I've found with the newer MS exams is tech changes quicker than the content. This is particularly evident with Azure and office 365 courses.
