ADLDS with Cisco Jabber

I was asked to build a ADLDS server that would import accounts thru MS FIM from two school districts AD's. We will then connect our Cisco Jabber to the LDS. When I try to connect I am being asked for the DN of a user to connect to the LDS with. I installed the ADLDS server as just a standalone server with no joins to any Domain. I created a user in the LDS and put it in the administrators group in LDS but when I try to login it seems like the password is wrong. I have set the password as well.

 

Is there a trick to building a LDS server and having a user in the LDS as a management user without having it in or running Active directory? Or should I just try to build the LDS in linux.

I am pretty noobish when it comes to Directory stuff.
