Renfield-64 Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Does anyone using Meraki know how to delay the MDM from rolling out apps? The problem I have is I select apps in the dashboard and roll them out to 45 iPads but this results in strangling our crappy internet connection to death whilst they install. If I could delay the updates until the evening or overnight it wouldn't affect anyone. Any ideas?
mikkydoos Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Don't think you can schedule installs. You could license each device a few at a time (if you've got DEP or unique apple ID's)
Renfield-64 Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Oh yes that's a good point. Maybe do 5 at a time. Thanks,
fredbayker Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 you can turn off auto-install of apps which means you can get it all configured but fire out the apps at a time of your choosing. That way you can stagger your installs.
Renfield-64 Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Ok that's worth a try to. I could fire them out from home then at night. Thanks, Ian
wedemire Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 You could also get a Mac mini to use as an app caching server.
snagrat Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 You could also get a Mac mini to use as an app caching server. Unless your with SWGfL
Renfield-64 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Thanks, I am trying to stay away from Macs as much as possible though (apart from the configurator program to set up).
