Hi guys,

I am currently working on my Windows 10 deployment build. I set IE and Adobe Reader as my defaults on the reference image but after sysprep and deployment EDGE returns as the defaults for all new users on the machine.

Anyone know how to get around this problem?

Thanks

We have done it by getting the defaults how you want them on a reference machine and then run the following which should create an XML file with the settings in.

Dism.exe /online /Export-DefaultAppAssociations:C:\Windows\System32\DefaultApps.xml

And the copy the XML file to the new machine and run the following at the end of the our deployments Task Sequence

dism.exe /online /Import-DefaultAppAssociations:C:\Windows\System32\DefaultApps.xml

You can set the XML file location in GPO as well but I haven't tried it that way, so no idea how well it works.

Computer configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Components > File Explorer > Set a default associations configuration file

OK thanks for reply. I'll certainly give it a go. Have to re-reference and deploy but if it works it will make life easier down the line.

Thanks buddy
