[sims] Recording Lunchtimes Offsite

Hi all

 

Just wondered if you used SIMS to record whether pupils are offsite at lunchtimes? I assume we can't add an extra period to the register as it would be recorded in attendance.

 

Any thoughts most welcome

Do you physically remove those students from the site at lunch times?

 

Is there a chance that some of the "offsite" kids might hang around on-site?

 

Do your students sign out and back in again at lunch if they are offsite?

They can choose whether to go offsite at luncthimes - yes they currently sign in and out but HT wondered if there was an electronic way of doing it. Years and years ago they had swipe cards, but SIMS was raised as a query to be used. Thanks

Paper sign out system as it makes the fire register more straightforward

Using SIMS by itself would require a register to be taken, who is going to do this and how many kids would need to be registered?

 

I don't think SIMS can really do this efficiently, if you just need it for fire safety then a swipe/biometric system may be easier.
