Windows 10, sysprep, copyprofile and Onedrive

I have switched from education to the enterprise version and found that I could use the copyprofile command and that shortcuts that we want are sticking to startmenu

 

All was going well until I found out that onedrive is broken for all users except the local administrators. Someone else with the problem https://winpeguy.wordpress.com/2015/11/03/win10-unattend-xml-copyprofile-and-onedrive/

 

I have found out that once the computer is on the domain if I give authenticated users permission to the local administrator's appdata folder it all works.

How ever sysprep strips this permission away.

 

Has anyone had this problem and found a fix?

 

Thinking of putting the computer on the domain before I sysprep, adding the permission and seeing if it holds. But I believe that this is not the correct thing to do?

In your Sysprep answer file, could you add a section to run either a script or a single command to apply your desired permissions?

Alternatively, although I haven't tested this suggestion, would the setupcomplete.cmd batch re-run following a Sysprep, and if so could that be used to apply your permissions and delete itself afterwards...

Are you just using copyprofile for a customised Start Menu layout? We've found that copying the LayoutModification.xml during our MDT task sequence does the trick.

Sorry for taking so long to answer you, we have changed the schools broadband provider, moved onto Office365 and got hit by the TeslaCrypt ransomware virus, at least we know that our backup procedures work

 

Now back to Windows 10 which seems to be getting better with every update.

 

mrwoberts, never think of using sysprep that way. I ended up setting the permissions on the administratorsaccount to everybody and running a little script using cacls that added the authenticatedusers and it now seems to work.

 

gshaw. when I make the immage I am removing all the apps except the store, the deleting all pinned items and then pinning internet explorer, file explorer, documents and the office programs. this arrangementis being copied exactly as I set it up.

 

We have successful pushed this out to a few hundred computers now and the start menu and cortana works on all of them except for one that lost both and even after a re-image cortana still does not work.

 

Our other problem is the copyprofile is not copyingthe default programs.
