W10 - Start Menu, Notification Area, Search won't load

When installing November Release of Windows 10 on a couple of machines I've noticed the Start Menu and Notification Area won't display and that Search will not let you type in any text.

 

Happened on a couple of machines I wanted to check to see if they could handle Windows 10. Anyone else had any issues like this?

I've had a win 10 education machine running here for a few weeks for testing of policies, software etc and all of a sudden the start menu no longer loads either as a local user or network user.

 

This is with the updated release.

I've seen similar issues in the past, hence why I've deployed Classic Shell.

 

It gets round the issues you describe. Optionally you can include the search tool within the Start Menu.

In my case, this appears to be due to the Applocker Policy.

 

This appeared to be a problem specifying with specifying the Domain Admin group and a Nested Group to give permissions. Used manually created groups in AD without any nesting and now working fine for me.
