I'm looking for an extension for Joomla to allow a staff noticeboard with the following requirements:-

 

 

• Staff can post a bulletin with a simple form (no complex screens like the article submission)
  
• If possible staff can email a bulletin that will be picked up by the system
  
• If possible, articles can have a default expiry date
  

 

Any thoughts anyone?

We do the first bit with percha Iframe - Joomla! Extension Directory

 

Like most places, we have staff with varying degrees of IT experience, including those who should not be let near a computer Most can drive M$Word to some degree. We have 5 display boxes on our intranet (the attached file shows the original layout with four boxes) which are updated by several people. They edit a .doc file, stored on a shared area, save it back and then save it again as "web page filtered" to the same shared area. These htmls are displayed on the intranet. Even with this simple scheme they get it wrong; saving the .doc to their home folder is a favourite. We take a firm stand on this - if a user overwrites someones changes on the intranet because the latest version of the .doc file wasn't in the shared area - tough.

 

There are probably better ways of doing this, but we didn't want our staff to get into the mysteries if Joomla!, especially document check out/check in.
