Hi all,

Need a bit of advice.....

120 pupils need to use a programming suite called (Cant remember but its M.I.T)

They need a Google email account each to login.

Whats the easiest way to get 120 Gmail accounts?

Google Apps? - Is it free? Do I need a license ?

Cheers in advance ;)

This question has cropped up fairly recently on Edugeek.

Yes, GAfE is free but you need to enrol. As part of that, you need to prove you own your school's domain name which can be done in several ways.

I've managed to get GAfE running simultaneously with Office365 with no negative effect. GAfE doesn't touch your domain's MX records (for email) if you don't want it to.

The only problem I encountered was that our account had been created as a standard business account, which meant we were limited to 10 users. Filling in a quick form and 24 hours later, we had 'education' status and had unlimited accounts.

From there, I uploaded a CSV with kids details and away we went. They all have Google accounts with @Yourdomain addresses. You can specify passwords if you want.

You can disable all features such as Google Drive and Gmail if you'd like- as we did. All we wanted them to have access to was App Inventor (by MIT)

Hope this helps.
