badders Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Can I put an HP BL460C G1 in the same C7000 chassis as an HP BL460C G8?
ICTDirect_Dave Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Yeah the C7000 chassis is basically the same despite the different screesn HP fits. You could have it filled with G1 through to Gen 8 blades no problem
badders Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 Even though there's 5 years between the C3000 that they're in and the C7000 that the gen8's are in?
ICTDirect_Dave Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Yeah, the backplane is the same so they'll work no probolem. the C7000 has a better management module though. This won't stop your G1 blades from working however. I've run it by my enterprise server chap here in the office (he sells three or four blades a week) and he's certain that it'll be fine 1
twin--turbo Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Firmware will probably need to be up to date. TT 1
badders Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 Where do I find firmware for kit that's this old (OA 2.25) , I've tried HPSUM and it complains about credential errors. I can see that people have gone from 2.25 to 4.23 but can't find it anywhere. Help!!
twin--turbo Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 From you HP support contract. And their in lies the potential downfall.
badders Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) Managed to find the bin files on the hpe website, currently updating to 4.40:) Link for old firmware versions: http://h20565.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=3692955&swItemId=MTX_dc5dc1fa9051424caa148ee23a&swEnvOid=54#tab-history Edited February 2, 2016 by badders add link
twin--turbo Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Your lucky then. One of the reasons i prefere Dell is they still allow people without contracts to maintain their hardware.
