GRitchie Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) I've been presented with a problem today whereby when looking into a global address list from a client, it shows as being empty! Nor can it be expanded. But it definitely works, because there are members of that group. Also, sending to that group goes to the correct recipient. Any ideas why it wouldn't be showing correctly on the clients? It's not just one machine either, seems like everybody's! As shown here: Edited January 27, 2016 by GRitchie
GRitchie Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 (edited) Excuse my ignorance... What's that? EDIT: Just had a Google. Nope, just a normal distribution group. Edited January 28, 2016 by GRitchie
mdrabble Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Does the all staff group contain other groups?
GRitchie Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 Yep, shows up fine in OWA. No, doesn't contain any other groups, just user members.
themightymrp Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Are you sure it isn't a Dynamic Distribution Group? As that would only calculate the members every time you send an email to it. There is no "hard list" as such. Failing that, do you use any kind of Address Book policies to separate users? We use one for staff and one for students and a member of one is unable to view the global address list of the other... Just wondered if it may be in that direction?
dapaulio Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 is it a local exchange? try restart the service microsoft exchange address book. Similar thing happens to us where we cant expand groups every now and again. i have investigated on and off for about a year but have not come to a cause. Hope this helps
