korifugi Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Well, that started promisingly.... Dark Chocolate? Yup, Walnuts? Yup, but then went downhill rather quickly. Grasshoppers - Bwuh? and continued downwards Papaya, Whole Grains, Tofu, Kimchi, Spinach, Seaweed, Avacado - what do I look like? Some kind of rich hippy? Edited January 27, 2016 by korifugi clarity

psydii Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I'd add Sushi (to have with the Green Tea). and also this stuff: Red Brick | Square Mile Coffee Roasters (which needs to be made by a barista who knows what they are doing) Unfortunately this is an expensive habit that I cannot afford to sustain. Attempts to get a pay rise based on my dietary requirements have so far fallen upon deaf ears, leaving me struggling to cope on a combination of crisps and Coke, and some daily stodge from the canteen.
rickjames Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I had to google Kimchi... Have to imagine you've missed the massive Korean food scene in Dundee. Have 3 scrambled eggs every morning; generally fruit and nuts mid morning, yoghurt, protein bars, all that. Cut down on coffee to one/two a day at most now... 1
mikeprice Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Chocolate, Hob Nobs and Coffee all made from vegetables therefore count as one of five-a-day
korifugi Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Hops grow on a plant, potatoes are a vegetable and cows eat grass... So - Steak, Chips & a beer it is! 1
Patrick Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Chips are potatoes. Potatoes are veg. Therefor, chips = veg.
mikeprice Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Chocolate Raisins are especially good for you!

mikeprice Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Hydration i have gathered very recently is paramount.. Coffee in very small doses... to be serious for a moment - I used to believe that but I have heard several 'people who should know' say that coffee, tea etc are all OK for intake of water - as long as the coffe isn't stupidly strong WHich makes sence because my mother only ever drank strong tea, stroung coffee and G&T (strong) and she didn't just shrivel up - which some people on the raido seem to suggest that she would have

rich_tech Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Coffee is fine I think, provided your not sucking down a litre of strong espresso every day. I have been on a major health kick since August last year and managed to lose over 3st so far among other health benefits by diet alone, largely by cutting out Sugar in the form of Coca Cola/energy or fizzy drinks/Chocolate/Crisps/Chips and anything else blatantly loaded with sugar. It was hell for the first week and I craved sugar constantly all my waking time, then it abated and everything was fine, now I don't miss it at all. I have much more energy for these changes too, so much that I don't need to be in bed by 9pm on an average night and I am no longer knackered constantly. I average about 30 pints a year since my children were born now, whereas before it was about 10 pints a weekend on any average weekend. 1
