doombadger Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Good Afternoon all, I'm in the middle of sorting out our licensing for the coming year and as is the way, getting more confused the deeper I delve into it! Bottom line is we'd like an Office 365 subscription, but with office 2016 still locally installed, rather than the web only version you get with your free education version. from what I could work out, back in the day - that would been a nice upgrade from A2 to an A3 subscription... Now I'm being bombarded with all sort of E3 subscription stuff and monthly user subscriptions to office 365 pro plus for faculty and student... Frankly I'm in need of a lay down as my grey matter dribbles out my ears! any one can point me in the right direction!
Trapper Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Office via EES and your staff/students get O365 for free via two product keys you enter into the O365 admin
doombadger Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 Thanks Trapper.. We already have a 3 year EES agreement in place, Not sure I've seen those keys! I'll have to have a chat with our reseller regarding that...
CAWJames Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 You need the free O365 Edu and then have added Office 365 Education Plus for students and Office 365 Education Plus for faculty these should be unlimited licences and include ProPlus. Talk to your licensing specialist, they should be able to add them to your O365 install. James
doombadger Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Thanks James.. I've arranged a call with them this morning, I'm not entirely sure they are up to speed with this! Edited January 26, 2016 by doombadger
CAWJames Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 If they sound like they know nothing, ask them to pass it their MS contact for clarification or mention that another reseller is sniffing around...usually makes them work harder
sparkeh Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 If you need a reliable contact ask Kate @Millgate she really knows her licensing onions.
