Hey,

So I have a new SCCM 2012 Server up and running fine. It is however awfully slow on running task sequences.

Any ideas on how to speed it up a bit?

Cheers

Depends on which bit of task sequences are slow?

We found installing updates was very very slow, got as many as possible updated into image to speed that up. and some we had to exclude and install after (.Net Framework i'm looking at you)

Multiple machine deployment should be faster if you configure multicasting

Which version of ConfigMgr? There was a bug in an early version of either 2012 R2 or 2012 SP1 (I forget which) which lead to slow OSD task sequences. Installing a CU fixed it.

Do you have a thin or thick image?

Are you installing applications during task sequence? How many applications? How big are these applications?

If you are installing big applications during task sequence (like Autodesk, Adobe Photoshop, etc), it will increase the deployment time significantly.
