Plea for help for someone in Durham

Are their any edugeeks in Durham who are placed to help out a friend of mine?

 

I supplied her with a laptop before she moved from Poole back up to Durham, but something has gone wrong and now it won't start. I've talked her through start up repair and system restore from a restore point and neither has worked. I don't want her to have to take it to some corner shop IT person.
