setting up windows 10 Group policies

I am hoping to upgrade to windows 10 for the summer holidays but this is probably too ambitious. Most of my existing windows7 policies work but I am now franticly working through registry settings after setting

I have noticed:

need to remove change account settings so they cannot play with them

remove the one drive icon

remove access to command prompt - I disabled run command but teachers can still run it?

remove unc path searching

remove the app store icon

remove windows defender icon

remove and disable access to windows administrative tools

is there a way to stop students from fast user switching but allow teachers to fast user switch?

 

I just wondered how everyone else was getting on with windows 10 and if you have managed to create a policy that was fully working? any help and advice is greatly appreciated

Bit soon to be moving to windows 10 really, I'd wait for a few years before they actually fix all the start menu and group policy omissions.

 

It really isn't designed to be locked down like previous versions of windows.

Yes, Win 7 security support is active until 2020. I'd give Windows 10 a year or two until it's had plenty of large scale beta testing/consumer usage and plenty of enterprise adoption so all of the bugs are ironed out.

I've been playing with Windows 10 group policy over the last couple of weeks. I've found the best way is to install the Windows Server 2016 TP4 on a VM and install group policy management on that. Then you can use the local policies from that to manage most things. Been able to block store, set up custom start menu and a bunch of other stuff that way.
