Word in Office 2010 - need to remove blank gaps between tables?

One of our Admin staff has asked me if I can help her with a problem she is having with a Word document. The document is many pages long and has continuous columns and rows in it. The problem experienced is at the end of some boxes Word has decided it would be fun to put in extra space - a whole page in a few instances. Any Word experts here please who can advise on how to make the document look normal again.

It's usually fixable by changing the font size of the row after the table to 1 point
