Liam Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Just wondering how many people are using DA now. What have you found to be an issue, if any. Any hints and tips? I have it operational for a handful of slt now. But... I have a user who doesn't have a.v5 profile already created and they get an error logging in saying they have a temporary profile. My only explanation to this is that that user hasn't logged in internally and created their profile? Should it really matter? I'm stumped. Everyone else works fine but they have logged in internally first before they left my office. Thanks
karldenton Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Hi Liam, We use it for all our external nurseries and out of school clubs. The nurseries use it all day every day. When I started here it was a major issue but it was down to a previous bad setup. Touch wood it runs perfect now. Someone doesn't need to log on internally first - our out of school club staff log on at the club and never venture to the main site. I can be a nightmare with the digital certificates.
Liam Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 I have it working.. But I think it was becuase I had roaming profiles setup.. Changed that now to local. Works better but still sluggish. I also can't ping my domain but I can ping servers and group policy runs as expected. I have noticed it's really slow? Should I have tunnelling ticked or not? Also should I add anything to application servers? I'm on virgin media so I know it's not IsP. I just need to speed things up now and it's good to go Any advice ?
Liam Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Have you configured using teredo or ip-https?
sparkeh Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Yeah we use it and it works really well. We don't use tunneling as we don't want to force all outgoing traffic through our network.
Liam Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 I think I'll enable teredo tomorrow I have read it performs much better. Are there any gp tweaks I can make to speak things up? I think a couple of minor changes could Make a big difference
sparkeh Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I don't think that there is much to tweak really. I just went with the gpo that was created in setup.
Liam Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Awesome.. I have done that to be honest and made some changes to workstation settings as I would for any other machines in school. Eg configure loopback etc
