dry Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Hi everyone, Anybody had experience with TADO thermostats? We're about to have one installed at school and the installer has asked for our "broadband code" (guess he means wireless credentials) and has said it's imperative to have these for the unit to function... Just wondering if anyone else who's had one installed has had to add anything to their filtering whitelist in order for the unit to communicate with the TADO servers? Did give TADO a call but their level 1 techies didn't really understand what I was after. Am about to email them but thought I'd ask on here first. Thanks
Edu-IT Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 What use is there for this in a school, I thought it's more a residential product?

Michael Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I use the Worcester Wave at home - control heating and hot water from my Smartphone. I suspect there are similar/industrial versions of the same thing for larger heating systems.

Looking forward to the confused faces when the heating automatically goes off when the BM goes out for lunch with her phone in her pocket. 2
XiJ Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I have the tado at home and I love it. Never touch it - just use the geofencing so when we leave the house it turns down to our out of house setting. Mine plugs into the network - by cat5 not wireless. Not sure what ports it uses. However I just can't see how it would work in a school - other than some remote switch on / off.
