Direct Access setup issue with Network Location Server: URL Availability.

Hello everyone,

 

I have about had enough with trying to resolve all of the setup issues that Direct Access is creating me. Could some one please please help me out.

 

At the moment I think I have bodg fixed most of the issues but the issue which I have at the moment is that Direct Access is telling me the following "Network Location Server | Critical | URL Availability"

 

Please Advise.

Ok so it sounds like the URL that you supplied for the NLS is not reachable.

 

Are you using the DA server as the NLA as well or a separate web server on your network?

m using the DA server as the NLA server. But I can use a separate web server as the NLA if needed.

No I was going to say that I have found it more reliable to use the DA server as the NLS.

 

Do you have the following records in DNS:

 

 

1. directaccess-corpConnectivityHost (both IPv4 and IPv6 records)
   
2. DirectAccess-NLS (both IPv4 and IPv6 records)
   
3. directaccess-WebProbeHost

And if you put the URL you used as the NLS into a browser you get a webpage returned?

Yes I get a page back.

The certificate was not in the trusted certificate authority. Now it can access the page fine.

But its now complaining about the https://DirectAccess-NLS.kinsonprimary.co.uk/insideoutside.

Also, if you have DNS scavenging enabled, consider making those DNS records static else they will disappear and that's a PITA :S
