Some remote desktop users cannot print PDFs

Hi all,

 

looking for some support to do with printing PDFs from WYSE terminals, I will try to keep it short and sweet...

 

We have recently moved to server 2012 R2 and are experiencing some teething issues, this is one of them.

 

they get this error when attempting to print PDFs only (printing anything else is fine)

 

 

• It is happening to only some of our WYSE terminal users (remote desktop)
  
• It can happen on all printers available to them or...
  
• sometimes can work when sent to a mono printer
  
• It is not intermittent, ie the user that is getting the issue will always get the issue no matter how many reboots or logon/logoffs you do.
  
• it is followed by another message that reads there are no pages selected to print
  

 

Things that have been tried (mostly from google)

 

 

• Rebooting all servers involved (including the print server)
  
• I read that KB3114419 is the cause of this...our servers have not got this installed.
  
• Printing as an image within adobe
  
• printing to a mono printer (as above this works for the odd user, but does not work for others)
  
• protected view and security settings have been disabled in adobe
  

 

The only temporary workaround I have been able to suggest is to logon as a user that is able to print, obviously not a viable solution going forward...

 

 

Any suggestions really appreciated here, will try to provide any information required
