dloudon96 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Hello, We've been using Meraki management in our school for a few years, seems to work well. I heard a rumour that with iOS 9 and Meraki we can restrict the wallpaper modification and password modification etc etc. I created an account 6 months ago for my personal devices at home and that lets me set restrictions with iOS 9, but the account that we use in school doesn't let me set iOS 9 restrictions. We've got 360 iPads on the account so don't really want to have to create a new account and re assign the iPads. Thanks, Dan
Edu-IT Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) Something to do with it no longer being a free product, I think. Systems Manager customers who are using the legacy, license free version will be able to manage devices running iOS 9, but will not receive the new iOS 9 functionality such as the extra restrictions. If you would like to upgrade to take advantage of the new features and gain access to many others, such as 24/7 support and network policy integration with Systems Manager Sentry, contact the sales team for more information. https://meraki.cisco.com/blog/2015/09/new-strategic-partnership-and-immediate-support-for-ios-9/ Edited December 11, 2015 by Edu-IT
dloudon96 Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 I'm on the free one from my personal home account though. It's weird and annoying if I'd have to create a new email address and re add the iPads again [emoji17][emoji53][emoji22]
MattGibson Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Such a shame and has been a great free product up till now. It may be worth paying for if you could completely control and restrict an IOS device otherwise it's not worth it. Interest to know what the costs are anyway.
mrbios Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Still free for less than 100 devices though thankfully (for those of us fortunate to have very few )
dloudon96 Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 We have 300 iPads, my first thought was make 3 different email accounts and then sign up for Meraki and add 100 iPads to each account, but it would take a long time to do, especially having to reconfigure the settings and profiles/tags again :/ I might have a go at it though. Anyone found out if/how it's possible to change the device lock screen wallpaper to a custom image via Meraki, I heard somewhere it was possible, but not sure where the setting is. Thanks, Dan
