LeMarchand Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 We have a load of old netbooks (and old HP laptops) gathering dust at one of my schools and I had vague ideas of using them as "internet" machines, preferably with Chrome as the browser (though I gather support for 32 bit Chrome may be on the way out?). Unfortunately they'll need Flash as it will be for KS1 how use a lot of flash-based sites. I tried CloudReady, but it wouldn't install on the laptops and wouldn't install Flash on the netbooks. Can anyone recommend a distro that will pretty much just open a browser after switch on?

cpjitservices Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 You can put any distro in kiosk mode, just log in and change your browser to run IE chrome or firefox with the "--kiosk" flags. 1

cpjitservices Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Do you have to do that on each boot? No, although you can do. You don't have to. When I set up an internet cafe I had it run as startup task so when user logs in Firefox --kiosk would start.
