[sims] Class register pre-populated with N

Yesterday afternoon a couple of teachers reported that when they logged onto SIMS to take their class registers the registration fields were pre-populated with N and they couldn't alter it?

I did this only last week, was testing the overwrite facility and marked a few kids with special codes (P, V etc).

Students that I hadn't marked were assigned an N by SIMS as part of the save routine.

I forgot to clear the register afterwards

 

Turning "Preserve" marks off *should* have allowed them to overwrite the N marks, are they aware of this?
