mac_shinobi Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Can someone please explain to me the different ranks that are available to a user on edugeek ?
GrumbleDook Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Newbie (one floppy disk) 1- 49 Been Here Bit But Still Finding My Way (two floppies) 50 -99 Ok Got Use To It Now (three floppies) 100 - 200 Right Now I Am Helping All The Newbies (four floppies)200 + I seem to remember there being a five floppies ... but not sure what it is ... The staff ranks are "EduGeek Staff" and "EduGeek Site Admin" There is an unspoken third staff rank ... but we do not utter it in case we bring the attention of The Dark One to our midsts ... but apparently The Dark One's earthly presence is based up north in an LEA office ... but he did get out down to BETT which was nice to see ... ;-)
mac_shinobi Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 so you go from 4 floppies to staff or is that something you seriously have to earn or how does that leap work ? Also floppies seems very out dated, whatever happened to cd's or dvd's lol ?? Oh did I forgot to mention Blu Ray is coming out he he
ChrisH Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Staff are the moderators and people who do other stuff to help run the Edugeek site and promote it.
mac_shinobi Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 ok taking a hint from your avatar and smacking my head on my desk lol
Ric_ Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 @gecko: As I mentioned in my PM, we are always looking for more help. If you feel that you can contribute please mention it to a member of staff and you probably will be elevated to the lofty hights of Staff Uber members that do tinkering even get made admins
mac_shinobi Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 It depends on your defintion of "help" lol
russdev Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 well that pretty much covers it 400+ posts = 4 floppies As for staff icon and site admin icon mainly so other users knew who could help them and also staff who helped with site felt they got something in return (i know a misley icon but still) russ
kingswood Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Please God no...I would never come here again. And I would never hear the last of it. I already get rammed with the Expert'sd Exchange badge system every time I hear about that. For goodness sake, keep some sanity people! Paul :-)
GrumbleDook Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Don't worry Paul ... a PFY will always be a PFY no matter how many badges they have ;-)
E1uSiV3 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Tis starting to sound like a scout meeting... lol /me hands a badge to everyone to keep them happy
kingswood Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Don't laugh. Apparently some people from Edugeek are after free Expert's Exchange accounts. They like badges. Makes them feel better about themselves. But thanks for the badge E1uSiV3. Appreciated. I've got some brownie and beever's badges around if anyone wants some ;-) Paul
