Hi there

I have a user's PC that I've been looking into for a while that simply refuses to go to sleep after a period of inactivity.

As this user leaves their PC unlocked and powered on 24x7 this is a bit of a security risk.

I have tried all of the conventional methods suggested on every forum from similar posts to no avail.

Deleted all custom power profiles, reset default power profiles to windows default, tried under different users including the login screen.

Checked for devices that could be keeping the PC awake such as keyboard and mouse.

What I really need is some out of the box thinking here as I'm not in a position to re-image the PC at this time.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve

Have been concentrating on the power settings to be honest but I do believe even the screensaver fails to execute.

That fact that the screen wont even go off after the standard 10 minutes is strange.

It's like the settings aren't being processed at all.

Nothing any longer.

It was keyboard and mouse and the NIC I believe but I removed one at a time to no avail.

At the risk of not being able to wake the computer if it ever decides to sleep I haven't yet re-added any.

There's also a command to find what the last action to wake the machine was which is also always blank.

Nothing is keeping it awake apparently yet here it is.
