Afternoon All,

Now I am in very unfamiliar grounds with these so need a bit of help.

Boss at work (none IT) has Sky ADSL with the router as normal but also has an Airport Express (AE) plugged in to boost his wireless signal in the house. This is connected via CAT5 to the Sky router.

Now the AE is plugged in and can be setup as an access point but when we set it to extend the range it doesn't seem to work when you set the credentials to the same as the Sky router. What I am I doing wrong?

Apparently he's had it setup and working before but recently moved from BT to Sky, everything is on DHCP and the Sky WiFi details are in, some guidance on this please?

Cheers

Could be wrong but thought you used the airport extreme app / utility to configure the airport express devices as well

Either disable wifi on the sky router and use the express to do wifi or set them on different channels

Not sure if this will help but on my airport extreme , in the search domain settings I have set this to

Home

Put dns to the ip address of the sky hub for primary dns which is 192.168.0.1 I think. If you want set secondary to google dns ( 8.8.8.8 )

@Arthur - any other suggestions?

I have used that utility to configure it.

There is no option to change the channel on the AE and no idea on the default passwords for the Sky router, even he doesn't know what. I can get it working as an AP but he was adamant that he had it setup so it was the same and devices didn't need to be connected to the both. To be honest the Sky router is at one end and there is some big thick walls and signal is down to about 1 bar in this area.
