Live Communications Server 2005

Hi all,

 

We are looking at Live communicatons Server 2005 and i have installed it in virtual enclosed enviroment and i want to know how the clients communicate to each other?

 

is their a client or is their a web based solution?

 

How do you do.....it?

I believe you use the standard Windows Messenger or Live Messenger client

Windows Messenger 5.1 is installed but it does not have the SIP communication checkbox that you need to configure?

 

Anyone else had this prob?

You need the Communicator 2005 client

 

We're running LCS 2007 & Communicator 2007 client

Yer i have looked at communicator 2005.

 

but i can't find the download anymore because of communicator 2007 and i believe you have to pay per user for this? is this correct?

i think i know the answer to this but i'm going to ask it anyway..

 

I have installed LCS 2005 and Messenger 5.1... All working ok and signing in...

 

Installed the Address book service and im not sure if messenger 5.1 is compatible with ABS... can anyone confirm this?

Communicator is included with Office Enterprise + Pro Plus '07, just not included with the actual install (so all MS Schools Agreement customers or those with SA have it already).

 

There is also Communicator Web Access also available.
