LiamHaith Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 Right guys, thanks for everyone's input. This month I ended up going with the Xbone (I'll have a PS4 in January though). I only have 3 games for it, which would be BO3, Fifa 16 and Fallout 4. But if anyone plays those, let me know. My Gamertag is Mr Haith.

Awesome - join the communities for Xbone, and when you get the 4 - join there too.
sted Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 BTW, the XBone has dropped another few quid on Amazon, now £219.99 for the 500GB with Ori and Rare Replay its really easy to fill up the 500gb one though (I wish ms would let you change your internal drive yourself without risking being banned from live) even my 1tb only has 200odd gb left
witch Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I keep reading the title of this thread as X-Bone Arrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

sted Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 ... you can't do that? I believe not as opening your console trips some sort of case open alarm that flags the console as modified and can lead to an xbox live ban. Its supposed to be there to stop people cheating but seems more aimed at making people upgrade consoles or forced to use external storage

Not ideal but not "new console" bad!
sted Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 OK well not too bad, I can live with external storage. Not ideal but not "new console" bad! yeah I did buy a 1tb console to replace a 500 but I wanted a particular special edition so used it as an excuse. Its just a shame I cant cram a 500gb ssd in say then move old junk to an external drive

sted Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 It sounds like you'd be better off doing it the other way round - junk on internal HDD, current on an external SSD - as USB3 has faster transfer rates than SATA II possibly but id lay odds that the msot "time saved" would be from having the os on an ssd rather than the games as such and benchmarks ive seen show an external ssd dosent make much of a difference
