michael_mc Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Have learnt today that Empowered Learning have gone into liquidation. It's going to cause big problems in my borough, one school has apparently had it's equipment ceased already! Can anyone confirm this? I have a little more info but can't post it here!
russdev Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 You sure school had equipment ceased that would be unusual at this stage. Russ
michael_mc Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 You sure school had equipment ceased that would be unusual at this stage. Russ It wasn't yet in the school's posession - only recently ordered I believe!
russdev Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 (edited) Right i see so not seized just not delivered yet that makes more sense. Edited January 18, 2008 by russdev
DMcCoy Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Must.. resist... urge ... can't ... "seized" Sorry If it's any consolation I had to look up the spelling, I had an extra e in it somewhere
plock Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Yes I was informed of Empowered yesterday. Luckily I don't have any schools using Empowered, a good friend of mine did have though. I was hoping to possibly join their team at some point in the near future! That's officially out the window!
webman Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I suppose this is the sort of thing we have to look forward to with BSF ICT Managed Services? Eg. All schools supported by one company losing ALL their IT intrastructure if a company goes bust?
russdev Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 @dMcoy What you going on about .... Ok was half a sleep when wrote it.

All schools supported by one company losing ALL their IT intrastructure if a company goes bust? Unless there's something in the contract to protect them specifically, that would be correct. They are just another creditor to the estate wanting their money back.

russdev Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Think through equipment is brought for the school so equipment would be ok but support would not. Russell
mrsrgj Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 We have been left in the lurch as of end of March at both the Infants and the Junior but LUCKILY I have a contact from my previous school and the Company we used were/are superb - I really mean superb - i see this as a silver lining to get PROPER support now and equipment at fair prices too - I have spoken to the company and they are more than happy to support this area - if you want their number etc, drop me a line - it may save your stress levels Rai
rbdave Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Just to let anyone know who may be worried. We were contacted by our account manager for my area on Friday who has put together a package which enables the support for our area to continue uneffected with no further charges. Not sure I can post details on an open forum but please feel free to contact me for details. Dave.
