Smee Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Had an email of one of my headteachers, they want to replace all their IWBs. Theres seems to be load of options for touch displays and I wondered if anyone had anything good or bad to say about any makes in particular. they currently have Promethean boards and software so don't know if they should just stick with them? Suggestions please. thanks
NB9457 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Promethean do tocuh panels too, seem good from what little experience I've had. I've installed SMART E70 and a variety of the Philips screens and don't seem to have an issue with any. Had a Philips blow a PSU, but they came and fixed it within a couple of days, so no complaints there. 1
Joanne Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 We've got clevertouch here and the software (Lynx) is good and easy to use. Good panels too. 2
mikeprice Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 looked at that here due to most of the projectors needing replacing conclusion was that the huge price at the moment doesn't justify the gains decided to buy some new projectors and look at the price again in 3-4 years time btw - would recommend Smart Boards if you are replacing IWB - they seem to be better that ActivBoards in my opinion - both from a teacher and tech point of view However - that would mean that any ACtivBoard resources your staff have would need to be binned and re-done which may change the decision
VeryPC_Anthony_L Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Hi @Smee will send you a pm There are a wide selection of Interactive displays is some crazy sizes. We generally are supplying Smart and Vividtouch but also have and can supply Clevertouch and IBoard. I am seeing very few schools going for IWB's. The great thing with going down the display route is you can use a wide variety of software and are not limited to the manufacturers software. Well worth looking at if you are wanting to replace IWB's
