Oaktech Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Hi Everyone, Does anyone have a digital document which they send to parents for damage to IT equipment referencing payment for said item or items, Appreciated in advance Thank you Like this: $School is loaning this notebook computer to you to support your learning subject to the following conditions: 1. You should use the notebook for completing school work only. 2. You must treat the notebook carefully at all times and try to ensure that it is not damaged or stolen. If it is stolen, you must inform the police within 24 hours and obtain a police crime reference number. This will be needed when making an insurance claim. 3. You should be the only user of the notebook and you must not allow it to be used by anyone else. 4. You must not load additional software onto the laptop. We will remove any unapproved software we find. 5. You must ensure that any prompts for windows updates or virus checks are acted upon. If you do not do this and as a result our network becomes infected with viruses or damaged in other ways, we may sue your parents. 6. We will not accept responsibility for any repairs required due to misuse (and therefore not covered under warranty). We may charge for the rectification of minor damage and we will always charge for damage rendering the laptop unusable. 7. You should back up all personal data regularly, either to the school network or to a USB drive/memory stick. 8. The notebook may be recalled at any time to ensure that it is running correctly. 9. The notebook is property of $School and must be returned every 30 days for checks. I understand the above conditions and agree to them: Signed: …………………………………………………………………… (Student) …………………………………………………………………... (Parent/Guardian/Carer) Date: …………………………….. After completion, please return this form to the office at $School. Returned Date: Receiving Officer:
Garacesh Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 5. You must ensure that any prompts for windows updates or virus checks are acted upon. I'd personally just pre-configure the AV do a daily/weekly scan and tell them only to do windows updates. "Act on all AV prompts" means they'll download TotallyNotATrojan-Antivirus.exe
Oaktech Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I'd personally just pre-configure the AV do a daily/weekly scan and tell them only to do windows updates. "Act on all AV prompts" means they'll download TotallyNotATrojan-Antivirus.exe There is training given about scheduled scans (the loan laptops are set to prompt about scans so they are definitely done rather than set to 3am and never being scanned) and not clicking on other things.
bossman Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 @Oaktech Thank you but not what I require, what I am looking for is a letter which a school would send out to the parents of a student who has wilfully damaged IT equipment i.e. Broken the screen of a TFT or deliberately broken a keyboard etc to which the school requires payment in lieu of said damage, a little like an invoice of a sort, Thank you all in advance
witch Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 @bossman There's one on here about damaged books - you could adapt it? :Standard Letters 1

I'll ask the office to dig it out as I get a paper one to fill in the technical details on the lower half, as the top half is done by the behaviour deputy.
