Hi all,

I'm deploying a piece of software that requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.

Trying to find a way to deploy it via GPO but can't download or extract the .msi to do it.

If I unzip the .exe all I get are 30 numbered files - u0, u1, u2, u3 etc, no msi.

Plenty of methods I've found on Google but non of them work with the latest version.

Any suggestions ???

Cheers in advance ;)

If you install the exe. This will extract the Msi to the c drive. Then to find it you can look up the product path in the registry bit that populates add remove programs.

Oooh. Cheers @MicrodigitUK

Got any idea where in the registry ?

Once you install it, check inside this folder:

C:\ProgramData\Package Cache

Sort by date and you will find a few folders relating to Visual C++ redist with enclosed .msi and .cab files
