Recreate Smoothwall MITM (HTTPS interception) cert?

Hi,

 

Does anyone know how to recreate the MITM certificate on a Smoothwall box with the right name?

 

Mine is showing as smoothwall.local but my box is firewall.mydomain.org so Decrypt&Inspect isn't working.

Not just @howartp having issues, ive having it too, sorry, i think the whole county is having the problem but no one has reported it yet... :banghead: give us a blank box with an image on with the licensed modules and we can move our old config over.

 

Ive tried renaming the box, doesnt work. Also the download of the p12 cert doesnt work either.

 

@john, remember when i had this problem the first time around and had all the problems with another school's box that i got? who am i eh? Im just a school Network Manager.

I remember that fun, didn't I find the magic config lines to fix it last time but alas you didn't have access to run them as root so were stuffed still

Turns out the domain on the cert "smoothwall.local" doesnt have to be the same as the hostname of the smoothie.

Good to know, I came across this yesterday when I changed the hostname of the smoothwall box. I tested the decrypt and inspect and seems to be working
