Hello,

We have been lucky enough to get a new server setup and we have a new domain as well. We are needing to migrate SIMS and Solous from the old server to the new server and domain. I have got all the documentation (from another thread) that's required and have set up SQL 2012 on the new server (HyperV). Do I transfer SIMS to the other server 1st or migrate Solus?

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

I would pay for your local support unit to do it, would make life a lot easier and they will have much more experience of it and you have them as a safety net.

Forgot to mention I am in the Middle East.

We had booked Capita to come out to do this for us(and a few other things) but when they came our new school building was not completed and no server was available.

I'm not sure how the SOLUS 3 factor figures in to the equation regarding server install, but my gut reaction is to migrate SIMS, then just set SOLUS up again.

Sims stuff is bigger, docs storage and DB, so do this but first, as per migration guide. If you have 2014 SQL then use it instead of 2012. Solus is easier to migrate as per migration guide. This is the way we did it.
