I our drive which stores archive of Staff / Student home drives which i'm about to burn to Blue-Ray and was very surprised to see the results! Size:111 GB Size on disk: 1.60 GB Contains: 198,392 Files 59,853 Folders There's got to be something else going on here right?

If so, the files within that folder are simply pointers, which point to a hidden folder which contains all the real data. So, the size to go with is the Size item. If I go by the Size on Disk option, our 1TB of files comes in at about 8GB... But it wouldn't actually contain any real data! We see around a 60% saving in space usage through deduplication.

Yep that's right, a bit misleading though... Thanks for clearing that up. How do you actually work out your saving then?
