Logmein not working?

Our LEA has blocked logmein.com but you was able to access it via the secure.logmein.com. However, im no longer able to do this.

 

Could someone please confirm logmein is down or blocked. EMBC is our provider.

I can confirm that the logmein site is working. Sorry im not on the same network as you so cant help further.

There was a post about this before Christmas. The main website was blocked but secure.logmein.com still worked but I imagine that they've got wise to this now and blocked that URL too.

Upon request they will allow the port open on to specific machines. This is a security thing. It is common sense not to allow the ports open to *all* machines in a school but just particular ones.

GrumbleDook: that will mean that my laptop will need to be assigned a static ip address correct?

 

It's alot of hassle as my laptop goes all over the place connecting to all different networks.

 

I suppose I could use DHCP to assign me the same IP by mac everytime?

 

I only wanted to remote out to my pc at home heh... see how my encoding was doing

That allows it for everyone though if you have the ports already open. Then you have to look at user level control of NetSweeper and for some that is a bit too much, especially if you have your own internal filtering too.

 

It is better to have it only open on the ports you need / want.
