Junior Librarian - stock take/ start again?

We have a copy of Junior Librarian from 2006. Needless to say, we don't have a support contract.

We desperately need to do a stock take, but that appears to be an additional module we would need to buy?

I'm toying with deleting the database and starting afresh, but I don't think they system will recognise any books newer than 2006? Is there a way to clear part of the database so I can rescan all the books but we won't have to reenter the details of all the books?

 

 

Or is there a cheap, and decent alternative. I was recommended an iPad app called Book Retriever but it doesn't look up to the job. We don't have a massive library so I'm loathe to spend £100s on this.

AFAIK Junior Librarian uses the internet to retrieve details about books does it not? If so then you could in theory just start again (take a backup of your current DB first though just in case) and create your library from scratch.

The latest .net version, might use the internet, but the standalone version appears to have a database from 2000 which holds the book information. You can download updates to it but only if you have a support contract.

Junior3 does use the Internet to get the book details but you need an active subscription, without the support it wont bring down the book info based on the ISBN.

 

Stock Check is also a separate application and doesn't appear to be on the latest install disk I have.

Well that's pants considering there are free online resources which allow you to search by ISBN.
