Smart E70 v Sahara v Mimio interactive TV's

Hi, the primary school I work for are thinking about replacing the class Smartboards with some interactive TV's, and I wondered if anyone could give a little feedback about any of these boards

Sahara

Mimio

 

Sorry I don't have the model of the last two as I am not in school today.

 

None of the schools around us have any yet, so I am not able to pop out and try one.

 

Also, the school will need to keep Smartnotebook and I know this has additional licensing implications if they get a non smart product.

Hi, We have a Smart E70 here, works great apart from the volume is very weak. We ended up adding a sound bar to ours. Since then we looked at Benq and Vividtouch as these come with Smart Notebook. One thing to note is that Smart Ink may not work on non Smart manufactured panels as it requires Smart hardware connected.

The biggest factor for us was the screen size - we needed something to replace older 79 inch boards, Benq do a 79 inch whereas Vividtouch went from either 65 to 85 (which was a bit too big and expensive). Couldn't really tell much difference in terms of quality - the numbers of point of touch seems to vary (still enough either way), connectivity was good on both, the Benq 79 is 4K which is nice but not essential. Would most likely go for a Smart branded panel next time as some staff do miss the Smart Ink tools. We did look at Sahara, again these looked like good panels but we didn't want to add another piece of software to the existing Smart and Promethean we currently have.

perhaps try to get a demo. the benq 79" has built in android with internet connectivity.

Sorry to hijack thread; but we are looking for AV/companies who will be able to supply a loan (interactive display) unit; but to be honest with you it would be for a SMART manufactured model as we need the 'ink aware' settings/functionality to work. We bought 2 non-SMART Boards last year, and although they worked it was very apparent that 'ink aware' was a major must-have function and were replaced. Edited November 9, 2015 by elsiegee40
